What Is The Expected Release Date For Demon Slayer Season 4?

With Season Three starting to air on April 9, 2023, which is known as Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, fans are already excited for upcoming Season 4. Assuming that all the conditions for production remain the same, we can expect a trailer after season three finishes airing and the anime might air in late 2024 or early 2025.

As of now, no trailer for the fourth season of the anime has been released. Based on the historical pattern of Studio Ufotable’s anime, we can speculate that the first trailer of the fourth season might get announced soon after the third season finishes airing.

In Demon Slayer, Tanjiro, is a humble son and brother who sells coal to support his family. One day, after returning from one such coal run, Tanjiro finds out that his whole family was massacred by Kibutsuji Muzan, the king of all demons. Muzan had spared one of Tanjiro’s sisters Nezuko but turned her into a demon. Giyu Tomioka, one of the leaders of the Demon Slayer Corps gets into a fight with Nezuko but spares her when he sees that she has maintained her human sanity. Now Nezuko stays inside a box that Tanjiro carries around everywhere.

Following these events, Tanjiro resolves to turn her sister back into a human and bring justice to his family by slaying Muzan. Tanjiro decides to join the Demon Slayer Corps to bring his resolve to fruition. After training for the entrance exam under Urokodaki, Tanjiro makes it out alive from the exam and is added to the Demon Slayer Corp.

One day when going through a city Tanjiro notices Muzan in the crowd and tries to follow him, which puts his life in danger, Tanjiro is saved by Tamayo, a demon doctor who promises Tanjiro that she can turn Nezuko back into a human if he sends her blood from a high-rank demon. 

Tanjiro is then sent on a first mission where he meets his future best buddies, Zenitsu and Inouske with whom he will travel throughout the whole series. On the mission, Tanjiro faces a demon who can control all the dimensions of the room and rotate the whole room at will.

Following this Tanjiro and the gang is sent on different missions where they have to defeat different demons who have been on a rampage. 

In the Demon Slayer movie, Tanjiro and his friends board the Infinity train that has been infested by demons that they have to defeat with the help of Rengoku, The Fire Hashira. 

In Season 2, we find out that demons have infiltrated the red-light district and are preying on humans. To fix the situation, the Sound Hashira Tenegen Uzui recruits Tanjiro and their friends and plans to infiltrate the district and eliminate the demons residing in it.

In Season Three, after a high-ranking demon is defeated, Muzan gets really angry and orders two high-ranking demons to go to the Swordsmith Village for research purposes, where they will face off against Tanjiro, the Mist Hashira, Tokito, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji.

In Season Four, we can expect the “Hashira Training” arc to be animated as the first half and the start of the “Invasion of the Infinity Castle” arc to be animated. In the Hashira training arc, we will see the Hashiras training themselves and the Demon Slayer Corps till they can manifest “The Mark”. In the second part, we will see the Demon Slayer Corps invading the Infinity Castle to finally end this century-long battle between demons and humans.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Expectations

After season 3 (Demon Slayer: The Swordsmith Village Arc) finishes, season 4 might be announced and it might be divided into two parts, one which deals with the Hashira Training Arc and the second might act as the introduction of the Infinity Castle Arc.

Which Studio Is Making Demon Slayer Season 4?

With Studio Ufotable heading the production for the first three seasons of the anime, expect Ufotbale to return to produce the fourth season too. Demon Slayer has proved to be Ufotable’s best anime yet, so letting it go to another studio could prove to be quite a big mistake financially.

Where Will Demon Slayer Season 4 Be Aired?

The first two seasons of Demon Slayer are already available on Crunchyroll, with the third season also being simulcast on it currently. The fourth season of the anime will also be simulcasted on Crunchyroll.

Considering the Swordsmith Village Arc wraps around 11 episodes or more, the release date of Demon Slayer Season 4 can be expected to be scheduled later this year around August 2024 and October 2024 on Netflix. 

After a successful first season, a blockbuster Demon Slayer movie, and another highly booming second season, Studio Ufotable had no reason to not animate the story further. With the third season covering the Swordsmith Village Arc, the fourth season will animate the second last arc in the story and might animate a small part of the last arc.
