   The first movie in the franchise sets the expectation of what the viewers can expect going forward. In the movie, we follow the story of 5 high school friends Jim, Oz, Kevin, Finch, and Stifler as they make a pact to lose their virginity before graduating from high school and do everything to fulfill the pact.

   While browsing the library, Kevin finds a book that is full of adult tips written by other students. Kevin studies the tips thoroughly and uses them to his advantage to impress his girlfriend Vicky. Jim pursues Nadia, a foreign exchange student.

   When Nadia asks Jim for help with her studies, Stifler pursues Jim to set up a webcam in the room. Stiler spreads the link to this stream to the whole school.  When Stifler’s plan is successful, he sends Jim into the room to join Nadia. Jim embarrasses himself in front of the whole school. The video is found by Nadia’s sponsors, who decide to send her back to Czech.

   Believing that band geek Michelle is unaware of the webcam incident, Jim asks her out to prom. When Stifler is turned down by a girl because of Finch, he mixes laxatives in Finch’s drink and rushes him to the girls’ washroom. Finch is made fun of due to this incident. Oz decides to skip his championship game to make up with his girlfriend Heather.

   At Stifler’s after-party, Michelle reveals that she knows about the Nadia incident and still accepts Jim. Kevin loses his virginity to Vicky but she breaks up with him afterwards. Finch loses his virginity to Stifler’s mom. The next day, the group discusses their successful pledges and toast to the “next step”.

   Chalked full of iconic scenes, sharp edgy humor, and a cast of heartfelt well-written characters, American Pie is a super fun watch. The movie does a good job of setting up key characters for future sequels while providing a fun story.

   With the huge success of the first movie, American Pie 2 was released just over 2 years later. In this movie, we follow Jim and his friends as they decide to have a lakeside. While trying to impress an old crush Jim starts developing feeling for a different girl.

   When the police shut down their party, Kevin decides to throw a big bash at a rented beach house. The group starts doing odd jobs to afford the party. When Jim receives a call from Nadia who is coming to the party, he approaches Michelle to gain experience who agrees to help him.

   While painting a house, Stifler spots two girls and assumes that they are into each other. To confirm this fact, Stifler breaks into their house while Finch and Jim try to stop him. When the girls find the trio in their house, they try to make a “favor for a favor deal” but Jim and Finch walk out in disgust.

   Jim visits Michelle again for more tips but mistakes Super Glue for Lubricant and renders himself useless for some time. When Nadia arrives early, Michelle fakes a break-up with Jim so that he can freely hook-up up with Nadia. Jim realizes that he has fallen for Michelle and confesses to her.

   Meanwhile, Kevin is disappointed that his ex-girlfriend Vicky brought a date and leaves the party. Kevin confesses that he has been having a hard time moving on, but his friends convince him that everything is going to be alright.

   The next day, before leaving, Stifler’s mom arrives in a car and leaves with Finch.

   With the complete cast returning from the previous movie, this movie maintains the fun character chemistry of the original while adding new and fun elements like beach house parties into the mix.

3. American Wedding

   Continuing the misadventures of Jim and his friends, American Wedding focuses on Jim and Michelle. In it, we get to see Jim propose to Michelle and the hugely hectic life that follows this proposal. As Jim and Michelle manage their wedding, Stifler starts messing their plans up.

   After a mishap in a restaurant, Jim proposes to Michelle. Stifler agrees to teach Jim how to dance, in exchange for an invite to the wedding. Jim also lets Stifler plan the bachelor party if he hides his personality at the wedding.

   Jim sets out with his friends to find a secret designer for Michelle’s wedding dress. By mistake, Stifler walks into a Gay bar and has a dance-off against a burly man who knows the secret designer. When Stifler wins, designer Leslie reveals himself.

   When Michelle’s sister Cadence arrives, Kevin and Stifler start trying to impress her. Stifler sets up the bachelor’s party at Jim’s house but keeps it a secret. Jim has invited Michelle’s parents who discover the party and are angry with him.

   By mistake, Stifler turns off the walk-in refrigerator which causes the flowers to completely wilt. Angry with Stifler, Jim shouts at all of his friends and sends them away. Feeling guilty for his behavior, Stifler sets out to set everything right.

   Stifler also gives Cadence a rose, as she decides to choose him. After a big confusion in the closet, Stifler is able to set things straight. After the wedding, Jim and Michelle dance alongside Stifler and Cadence. Though Finch had broken up with Stifler’s mom when she tells him that she has a hotel suite and the two leave.

   With a bucketload of funny skits, references to previous movies, and genuine hard-hitting romantic moments, the movie gives off more wholesome vibes as compared to previous movies while maintaining the same humor that made the series famous.

4. American Reunion

   Released nearly 9 years after its predecessor, American Reunion is the final movie in the original series. In it, we get to see Jim and his gang reminisce about their old days and reignite old relations.

   When the group learns about a reunion of their class, they return to their hometown Michigan. There Jim encounters his neighbor Kara, now 18, who he used to babysit years ago.

   The next day at the beach Oz meets his high school love, Heather, while Kevin reconnects with his ex Vicky. That night Jim drives a drunk Kara home, who tries to seduce Jim.

   The next day, Jim and Michelle attend Stifler’s party. When Heather and Oz’s partners start upsetting them, the two comfort each other. Concerned about her Marriage, Michelle tries to do new things with Jim but is interrupted by Kara. When Kara reveals the drunk ride, Michelle gets upset. Jim says that he does not care about Kara, and both of them leave.

   When Stifler acts immaturely during a serious situation, the group tells him they dislike him. Regretting what they said the next day, the group admits that high school would not have been fun without him. They make up with him.

   Stifler quits his Job and stands up to his boss, Kevin makes up with Viky, Finch gets with Michelle’s friend Selena and Oz reconciles with Heather and together they all head to the reunion.

   Stifler takes the job of a wedding planner. Finch’s mom Maks a pass at Stifler and the two leave. In the end, Jim and Kara apologize to each other and Kevin proposes a pact for them to have a reunion once every year.

   Concluding the saga of the original series, American Reunion wraps up the plot points from previous movies nicely, giving its viewers a good sense of closure while maintaining a healthy dose of sharp and edgy humor.

5. American Pie Presents: Band Camp

   The first direct-to-video sequel in the franchise, Band Camp refreshes its cast completely and provides a completely fresh plot. In it, we follow the story of Matt Stifler who pulls off a cruel prank on the school band and is sent to Band Camp for the summer, where he discovers a new passion. 

   When a prank on the school band goes too far, Matt is sent to Band Camp by Counselor Chuck. At first, Matt is snotty about going, but when he learns about band girls he decides to go.

   Upon arrival, Matt is very rude to everyone and is sent to Jim’s father who tells Matt to get along with the band and earn their trust. Matt conspires with his roommate and films a movie using a hidden camera.

   During lunch, Matt accepts a deal with a rival band leader Brandon where they will have a Music-Off. Brandon decides to play the drum while Matt plays the triangle. When Matt starts losing, he picks up a bagpipe and plays it well till he wins. This impresses Elyse and the two share a kiss later.

   When some kids make fun of Matt for the Band uniform, he makes a deal with them to show them a movie if they keep quiet about him wearing the uniform. Elyse walks in on them watching the movie, she gets disappointed and walks away.

   When another of Matt’s pranks goes wrong, his band loses points which resulted in their opponents winning, and Elyse loses her scholarship. When Matt realizes his mistake, he sets out on fixing each one.

   He reconciles with his bandmates and persuades them into playing Elyse’s music piece. Due to obvious plagiarism in Brandon’s piece, he loses his scholarship which is awarded to Elyse for her piece.

   The first in the spin-off sequels, the movie takes the route of explaining a long-running joke in the original movies. Released in 2005, Band Camp follows the formula of the first two movies in the series and focuses more on edgy humor.

6. American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile

In it, we follow, Erik Stifler who is a virgin despite having a girlfriend for two years. Erik takes his friends up on the offer to go to Michigan to participate in the Naked Mile run.

   Erik Stifler has let down the Stifler family name as he is about graduate from high school but is still a virgin. When Erik’s girlfriend for 2 years Tracy, decides to lose her virginity to him, he goes over to her house at night. They are disturbed by her father and a naked Erik escapes.

   Erik’s friends Cooze and Ryan decide to go on a road trip to Michigan University, where Dwight Stifler is currently studying. They want to take part in an event called Naked Mile. There the trio meets Dwight who wins a drinking contest in front of them. At a bar, Erik meets Brandi, a college girl who likes virgins.

   Feeling shameful at first, Erik and his friends are reluctant to do the naked mile, but when others strip, they join in. At the end of the mile, Erik and Brandi share a kiss which is televised. Seeing this Tracy regrets her decision to let Erik go and decides to lose her virginity before Erik comes back.

   That night Erik realizes that he loves Tracy and can’t go through with Brandi. Erik rushes back to Tracy and makes up with her. The two have their first time together. The movie ends with Erik and his friends exchanging their experiences.

   While setting up likable characters for future movies, The Naked Mile delivers the same gut-wrenching laughs as its predecessors. The ending leaves the viewer happy and wanting more.

7. American Pie Presents: Beta House

   Released just a year after its predecessor, this movie continues the funny antics of Erik and his friends. In it, we follow Erik as he is admitted to Michigan University and joins the Beta House. When the Beta house is threatened by rich geeks, Erik decides to stand up.

   After Tracy breaks up with Erik, Him and his friends join the Beta House at Michigan University. There Erik and his friends are welcomed to the house by Dwight. Erik learns about how the rich Geek House is trying to shut the beta house down.

   Erik goes on a date with Ashley and the two click. After Erik embarrasses himself in front of Ashely,  the two laugh about it. Cooze falls for Ashley’s roommate Denise but feels like there is something off about her.

   When Erik, Cooze, and Bobby complete all the required pledges of Beta House, the Beta House is challenged to a ‘Greek Olympiad’ by the Geek House and the winner takes the loser’s house. The Beta House wins the first rounds, but the Geek House wins the next three. Beta House equals them by winning the next two rounds.

   In the last round, Beta House uses Edgar’s fetish against him winning the round. The movie ends with Erik and Cooze establishing their relationship with Ashley and Cooze respectively.

   Released just a year after the previous movie, Beta House is a fun energy filled sequel. The movie ramps up its skits continuously through the concept of pledges and the final competition is an enjoyable sequence.

   When an embarrassing video of Rob is uploaded to YouTube, he is ashamed to meet his friends Nathan and Lube. Scott Stifller, Rob’s classmate tells him that he is going to make a move on his crush Heidi.

   Rob and Heidi meet in the library where Heidi expresses that she wants to lose her virginity as soon as she could. At the school dance, when Rob finds Heidi making out with another student in the library, he drops a torch and sets a big fire.

   While cleaning the ruble, Rob finds “The Bible”, a legendary 40-year-old adult manual. When Rob starts using the tips from the manual, he finds himself being quite successful. Nathan accidentally broadcasts a private conversation he had with his girlfriend Dana, to a whole church where her parents were present.

   Rob finally confesses his feelings to Heidi and she accepts. Heidi is hurt when she hears Rob yelling “Tonight, I’m getting laid”. Later Rob finds Heidi in Bed with Scott and begins drinking heavily. Afterward, Rob heavily embarrasses himself at the party.

   Rob decides to find the creator of “The Bible” which leads to Noah Levenstein who helps him rebuild the damaged pages. On the ski trip, Dana and Nathan make up. While stuck on a ski lift Rob and Heidi reconcile. Lube confesses to Ashley and they get into a relationship. The movie ends with Rob returning “The Bible” to the library.

   Expanding a joke taken from the original movies, Book of Love is a fun spiced version of a previous movie. With a completely new cast of characters and an appearance by Eugene Levy, the movie feels refreshing and fun to watch.

   Annie, who is trying to lose her virginity to her Boyfriend, Stephanie, who is blackmailing the school’s perverted principal into retirement, Kayla, who is very insecure about her boyfriend cheating on her, and Michelle, who is into adult toys, makes a pact of getting what they want by the end of the year

   One by one each of the girl meets with Grant and start developing feeling for him. In their own separate ways, all the girls try to impress Grant, trying to win his liking. Grant slowly starts realizing that he has developed a crush on Annie.

   Stephanie teams up with Emmett to get Annie and Grant together, and in the process end up falling for each other. Though Kyala and Tim broke up, the two get back together realizing their feelings for each other. Michelle realizes that she is in love with Oliver when she tries to impersonate him.

   Jason, Annie’s ex, wrongly presents the girl’s pact to Grant who feels used and walks away. At the pajama prom, Annie explains the pact to Grant and the two make up. The movie ends with all four of the girls fulfilling their pacts.

   Changing up the formula significantly, for the first time in the series we follow an entirely female cast. The skits and gags throughout the movie are timed well and land nicely. The cast gives a nice twist of perspective to its viewers as compared to the previous movies.
